WAN optimization is also a big one.  Packeteer is in this arena and they teamed with Microsoft a couple of years ago and now have a really good product called iShared.  Basically it makes working in a remote office seem like you're right there at the data center with the speed that it serves files.  No more clicking a file, taking a smoke break, and coming back to watch it open.  It's much faster now!</description>
