I'm not sure exactly which "technologies" you are referring to. The video card, hard drive, DVD / Blu-Ray drive, USB ports, etc... are all very similar to ones found on a standard PC. The original Xbox, especially, was a modified PC.


The software "technologies" are also very similar. The same techniques are used in video rendering; the game engines are frequently ported to and from the PC with little trouble, etc... Linux can be run on modern consoles, very similar to PCs.</description>
